The 14th and 26th Scouts and Explorers joined forces again, spending two weeks in the beautiful Dorset. Camping at Buddens Scout Activity Centre, our Scouts and Leaders enjoyed a wide range of adventurous activities as well as the more traditional Scouting ‘stuff’. From climbing walls to abseiling and leap of faith, from swimming to kayaking and canoeing, this summer camp saw our young people coming out of their comfort zone, developing their skills and independence through teamwork, trust and leadership.
Apart from all the 14 amazing on-site activities, there were plenty of opportunities to explore Bournemouth, Poole, and the historic Jurassic Coast. After spending a day on Brownsea Island, the birthplace of Scouting and the first Scout camp, we enjoyed lots of beach games and a lovely BBQ on Sandbanks beach! Other highlights of the camp include an indoor laser-tag session, visit to Splashdown Poole, getting knighted at Corfe Castle and the must-see annual Entertainment evening.
Everyone had a smashing time and thanks must go to all the Leaders for organising such a great camp!
We will be heading to the south again in 2020 and hope to see lots of you there!
